So you want to do some woodworking and you quickly become discouraged by the vast amount of tools out there. Well honestly, while they're all nice..you only need a handful of basic tools to get started. Before we get started, make sure to follow me on YouTube, Instagram and FaceBook to keep up with all my latest projects! The very first and probably most important tool you'll need is a tape measure. You need to know how long to make stuff, so being able to measure is a must. Next you're going to need a saw. While miter saws and table saws are nice, you can do pretty much anything you need with a circular saw. This is a cheaper route that will get you cutting quicker. You have options as in cordless or corded, so pick one that fits your budget and needs. Next up is a drill. Cordless or corded..it will serve you well. From drilling holes to installing screws..a drill is a must. My next suggestion would be a speed square. They come in handy for a multitude of tasks including marking stock, checking if things are square, and easily being able to find angles. Every beginner woodworker needs a sander. Lumber is rough and it needs sanding. I'll be frank here...sanding sucks, but its worth it to have a nice and smooth project.
