First thing I did was use one of the 2x4's as a straight edge to break the ply down for the bench top and bottom shelf.

After the ply, I used my miter saw to break down the lumber according to the cutlist.

I started attaching the long top stretchers to the legs. This step was repeated twice for each side of the bench.

Next it was time to attach the side stretchers to bring the two long stretcher sections together.

Once the basic framing is done, flip the bench over and start attaching the top center supports evenly spaced.

I flipped the bench back over to make installing the bottom stretchers a breeze. I used my bottom shelf supports as spacers to rest the stretcher on for attaching.

Just like the top, the bottom supports were installed evenly spaced.

Flip her back over one more time and attach the top ply.

Add in the bottom shelf and that's a wrap on the simple beginner workbench.
